Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great, eventful first Thanksgiving with Miss Addison! And so many wonderful things in our lives, obviously the greatest of which is our precious Angel Baby Addison! This was a very busy weekend with lots of changes from our typical routine, but our little champ just went with it! She couldn't have been easier!

Wednesday
YaYa & Often came to town. Went to eat at Red Robin...Addison ate and ate and ate! And you must go get a Gingerbread Milkshake there...I actually used the word magnificent to describe this little frost-filled, gingersnap-garnished bit o' heaven... I wonder if they're open now?
Thursday
Thanksgiving dinner at Aunt Shannon's with Uncle Craig, Maddie, Will, Aunt Katie, Uncle Shane, Elle, MiMi, YaYa, Often, Aunt Sister, Mommy, Daddy and Addison.
Maddie and Will made the cutest little pilgrim hat cookies for everyone from a cookie and a marshmallow, and Miss Priss thoroughly enjoyed the pilgrim hat cookie that Uncle Craig gave her! "Hey, did you know there's a marshmallow in here?"Seriously, Craig, thank you for thinking to put a napkin on her while feeding her chocolate. You know me too well.

Friday
Addison started the day by dragging Often's shoe around and around and around the house! Maybe this was new because Daddy doesn't leave long shoelaces on his? Who knows, but it was highly entertaining! For everyone!
YaYa and I did a little shopping, though we're not hardcore 4 AM Black Fridayers like some people! We finally got out around ten or so. Addison got to see Santa, but since Daddy wasn't with us (one guess where he was...), we decided we'd better wait to take the picture! Addison definitely was checking out the jolly old elf!

We then had another great Thanksgiving, but this one was at PaPa & Lynnlee's. All the same people, but substitute PaPa & Lynnlee for MiMi. Here's Daddy with Addison and Elle...
When we got home, Mommy got the itch to start on the Christmas decor...

So this is what Addison awoke to on Saturday morning... This little face just sums it up! Addison is absolutely in love with the transformation taking place in our house, especially the huge lighted tree growing in the living room with the sparkly, pretty balls! She wants to touch it all! And I think she will definitely know the meaning of the word "gentle" by the end of the Christmas season--she hears it about a zillion times a day!
Addison's favorite place to play is right under the tree, of course! Oh, and yes, Priss is wearing the same outfit Friday night and Saturday morning. She wore it for like five minutes on Friday and I think it's cute so it went back on on Saturday. Sue me. Doesn't happen often!

Anyway, Saturday consisted of a little more shopping, then we went for round two of the Lights of the Ozarks! We started at US Pizza, where Addison, who had already eaten one dinner, proceeded to eat cheese bread, turkey, cheese and olives from YaYa's salad, and almost an entire piece of pizza! She was utterly fascinated by all the people at the next table, so we really don't think she even realized she was eating!

We went to the square for a little while, but Addison got cranky almost the minute we got there. A yucky combination of cold weather and tired baby girl! Must be like her Momma--loves the cold, but wants to enjoy it from beside a nice warm fire with a nice bottomless mug of hot chocolate in her hand!

We then got our little sugarplum all nestled in her bed, and Mommy headed out for a girls' night...I saw the first movie I have seen in the theatre in AGES! Four Christmases--fabulous! Vince (Vaughn), Reese (Witherspoon), Kristen (Chenowith!!! Love you!), you are right up there with Christmas Vacation and Charlie Brown and The Grinch and Elf and White Christmas! So cute!

Sunday
To finish up a great weekend, SNOW!!! All day and even into Monday! I literally shrieked when I saw that beautiful white stuff floating to the earth! It was so beautiful and Addison really enjoyed it! Why did I not take a picture or thirty?

We headed back out for a little more shopping (seriously, we really did not shop that much--they were small trips!) and Addison saw Santa again! She was very interested in his red suit... of course my child is interested in clothes! We still didn't officially visit Santa, the outfit just wasn't right. That's on the agenda for this week!

Happy Turkey, Angel Baby! We love you immeasurably and are so incredibly thankful to have been blessed by your presence!

Did Addison see Santa on the Square? A friend of mine says we need to take Caroline up to see him there. I am just trying to avoid a "creepy" Santa for her first picture! We are going to be in Sdale Saturday evening, so I might try to talk Darren into going to the Square. If not that, we may just go see the NWA Mall Santa...he's probably better than the (crummy) Central Mall (FS) Santa! :)
