We live in a neighborhood that is finished for the most part, but there are a few empty lots clustered together nearby. Recently, we have become a wildlife haven. Coyotes, skunks and rabbits have been spotted. Lots of birds, the occasional snake. And now a deer (about a year old)! This little sweetie has moved in and seems to like it!The neighbor kids leave a bucket of water for her to drink, occasionally some strawberries... The field is full of clover for her to eat. She came up to JE the other day and licked his hand, and drank from Addison's little splash pool while Addison was in it! This picture was taken from one of our front windows -- she was in my landscaping!
I just love it that Addison can see nature up close like this -- the first time she saw the deer, she excitedly yelled "dee!" So much better than a book!
